Laikim Laip - Asia Foundation Programme mobile community support programs
|
Through a unique relationship between the Asia Foundation, the Ginigoada Foundation and the Port Moresby Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and with the encouragement and support of Dame Carol Kidu (Minister for Community Development) 'Laikim Laip' has launched 2 mobile community support programs in the City of Port Moresby, PNG.
The 'Laikim Laip' programs target those in the community that would benefit the most, with the programs travelling into various settlements and areas within the City that some other programs may otherwise detour around.
The Asia Foundation is the principal sponsor of this program supplying the funds to purchase the vehicles and equipment, and the operational budget that includes wages for the staff.
Since the launch of the 2 programs a number of other companies and organisations have began to look at significant ways that they can help these programs to function well now, and potentially continue past the current program conclusion date. Read more |
