Yumi Lukautim Mosbi (YLM) is a model for coordination of urban safety & crime prevention activities through Provincial Government partnering with law & justice sector agencies, statute authorities, the private sector and community. It is a unique, all inclusive cross sectoral network of people wanting to make a change that enhances social cohesion at all levels. Together we discover, implement and facilitate improved law and order, harmony and a better quality of life at community level.
This ongoing intervention is funded primarily by the National Capital District Commission (NCDC) which Port Moresby’s City Authority and partly funded by GoPNG & AusAID. It is managed by the Urban Safety Unit within the NCDC and reports directly to the City Managers. The YLM Steering Committee is comprised of representatives of NCDC, law and justice sector, City Mission, NCD Provincial Youth Council, CIMC and PNG Sports Foundation, and now corporate sector members Digicel Communications, CPL PNG and PNG Power.
